Our Story

“You should put those beautiful vinyl records on your walls.”

Me in my Frank Black t-shirt outside my first retail store, Rotate This!, c. 2010

That was the simple thought I had back in 2009. I had been digging through crates and buying all sorts of random and wonderful albums for years. I loved these records so much that I wanted to put them up on display. But there wasn’t a good way to display your vinyl records back then, so I had to invent this unique and practical vinyl record frame.

I wanted something that displayed the entire vinyl album cover flat on the wall, but I also wanted quick access to the record as well. If I can easily get the record onto my turntable, and also be able to display the album art, then it’s a double win. So I designed this vinyl record frame to keep the album as close to the wall as possible. Sleek, minimal, easy to install, and beautiful.

After several prototypes, I figured out what was going to work. So I learned a bit of 3d design, and then found a local Canadian plastic factory that could help me out. It’s been a great journey ever since thanks to my amazing customers, and a few awesome record stores. I am very fortunate to have the best customers a business could ask for, so thank you all!

Best, Steve
